Communicating With Autistic Children Do You Reckon That Autistic Children Should Be Treated With More Respect And Not Get Yelled At?

Do you reckon that autistic children should be treated with more respect and not get yelled at? - communicating with autistic children

I find it really unfair that give children with autism. I thought that more people from the diagnosis of ASD and the autistic spectrum are aware of and how to treat them properly.
There is an ignorance of the masses of mutual understanding through communication and autistic body language. The problem with autistic children do not or can not lay himself open to the conditions.
In particular, do not contain verbal instructions for what they shouted angrily and lighter than not their fault. It is a part of her condition.

I contribute to the National Autistic Society and contributes to a regular school where the children aspects of Asperger syndrome and mild autism. No children with severe autism is required at this school.

Today, a young girl who happens to work, came to me crying because his math teacher did not call for verbal instructionsand to complete its work and was very, very angry, because math is not your best subject, and there is strong pressure from his teacher, whoh I think it was wrong.
She said she was very confused and told the teacher I was confused, but does not benefit in any way. The fact that autistic children who see things differently from others does not mean they should because the more stress. Nobody paid any attention in those days.

What are your opinions, because I think it is not granted. Have you worked with children with autism and what were the reactions?

I have a nephew, the autistic very sensitive to noise. He is 7 years and never a word, though he understands what you say. They are separated from ordinary people and should be in special classes. Teachers and carers need in these areas are trained, and specialty chemicals knowledge of all factors of autism. When they consider the parents to another school for them. Good luck.

I have a 11-year-old daughter who has autism. Yelling does not work, only increases their anxiety, which continues its causes and makes the most annoying symptoms longer.

If you do something, like call his brother heard (with his name as on a TV program to be taught, for example), how to behave. I want to ask: "Do you know if the call brother .....? You should not give the name ..... not nice and hurt the feelings".

When she called the school and under no pressure would be hell to pay. To let go the first time in my house when all the fear and discomfort out, have to deal with him for hours. Then at school, if I train some people for their behavior. I have a very good relationship with the school and their teachers. All were working as, not to the accommodations that can or should be, etc. .. dependent communication between home and school is probably one of the most important for a good experience.

To answer your main question (paraphrased - Children with autism should be more respect and do not cry to be treated). I do not think every child should be "screamed" in (mostly) not in school, and all children must be respected (but it is something that is first taught at home).

After working with children and adolescents with autism, I have to learn to say that all children with autism is different (and differently) has a variety of possibilities and limits - just like any other child. If the public school districts do not train their staff (in conjunction with autism and) other diseases and do not use "best practices", which is exactly what you described. It is also pointed out that private schools that cater specifically to students with autism have greater latitude in their speeches. Unfortunately, much of what is considered good practice by the private sector is not allowed in public schools (is) very efficiently. What is best for all students in a class is to find what WORks is best for each student, use only the strategies according to individual needs. Realistically, a teacher in a class from 18 May, 18 different strategies, closer to the 5th

Today the teachers for much more than it used to be responsible. Since the conditions of teachers have increased beyond the broad line of duty (for the education of children in the country) and are now ensure that federal requirements are met (among other tasks), the focus on providing individualized instruction as a result suffered. A person with autism more time than a teacher must and should be aware that if this additional requirement of individualized instruction, additional resources are made available to support student learning opportunities.

It has occurred to a number of reasons that you mention the incident. Part of the problem is a lack of familiarity of teachers with the child (and the best method of intervention to begin with them) or the teacher "S lack of teaching experience (in general) and, more specifically, the education of children with autism. Based on the observation of several districts, it seems that the approach of the school board, the level of funding, level of priority of individual strategy and other factors that are determining the success of students in the district available. Staff training is the next in the series, but this time is largely determined by the circle (whose practices are certainly willing to find for this strategy - pay issues such as staff training, hang) by the school.

To promote a more effective education for children with autism, the parents must be fully involved in their children's education. Parents will ensure the maximum benefit for their children that the learning style of the child is taken into account, but also in the field of children's abilities and limitations. If the parents do not exercise this right and to solidify, systems, children (with autism and any other disease) is cogenst be pushed through the system without the risk of long-term benefits, and it is almost certain to be completely dependent on the system, even if they are able to become independent.
